New Years Resolution 2014!
WOW! Where has the year gone. 2013 was full of ups and downs and seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye. I want to refocus this year on some things that are the same as last years goals, as well as new ones that I want to help transform my life.
#1
EATING CLEAN
I have never felt so good (besides being vegan) until I started eating clean. There is nothing more satisfying than the feeling that I am fueling my body for health instead of crap. When you eat good, you feel good. Eating clean is a lot easier than it might sound. Lean meats, beans, rice, fruits, veggies. It just misses a lot of the major inner isles that are loaded with additives and sugars. When you make your own food, you control the quality and the ingredients. I did this for a while in 2013, but somehow started to stray away from it more than using it. Once your body receives those crap foods, its hard to get back out of that. This is one of my goals. Plus, hopefully this year I will get pregnant again and its a great healthy way to maintain weight while being pregnant as well as great nutrition for the baby.
#2
EXERCISE 3-5 TIMES A WEEK
This goal I wanted to range on the amount of days to fit into the life that I have formed. Some weeks are really busy and some are not. This range of getting me into the gym should still keep me on track, yet be manageable for life circumstances. Having these goals and actually keeping to them means that you have to make the goals attainable and have a plan. I HAVE BOTH!
#3
MEDITATE
Its amazing how well you feel from meditating, yet how much it can be forgotten and looked over in the scheme of things. Meditating for me, consists of 15 minutes of alone time, in a quiet space, listening to meditation music, and focusing on......wait for it.......nothing. I try to clear my mind from the days work and be still inside. The amount of quality sleep I receive after meditation far surpasses my sleep patterns on a regular non-meditation day. Silencing the mind is key. Men, to me, seem to be able to do this on a daily basis without the need to meditate more than women. Us women, we like to rethink, over think, think of what needs to be done and what we didn't get to, right before bed, or, in the middle of the night. I NEED THIS.
#4
BE POSITIVE
Having a positive lifestyle is key to happiness and a healthy life. When my personal trainer and great friend Taylor lived in the Springs, she was my guide to everything it seemed. She helped me look into my eating deeper, my exercise patterns, and my spirituality and happiness. She brought me to the church where I feel like I belong and enjoy so much. There should be no excuse to go somewhere, be happy, and look forward to going back over and over again. I want to be positive in my life on all circumstances. Instead of me saying we don't have money, I want to think and believe, "We are abundant in so many ways in life. We have money to pay our bills, to eat, to drive our cars, to live." Focus on all the things we have instead of what we do not have yet. Believe what I want my life to be is in the present and look at my vision board on a daily basis.
OK, so this is my 2014 new years resolution. Hopefully everyone has made some life changing manageable ones for the new year that they will be able to continue on. LIVE LIFE EVERY MOMENT AND LIVE IT LIKES IT YOUR LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

100 mile challenge in November
So this month, on MyFitnessPal, I created a group that is tracking their exercise miles for the entire month. Last time I did the challenge, I created it for the summer months to encourage people to move outside. This fall/winter challenge is great since everyone wants to hibernate in the winter months.
If you have not been to the website, I HIGHLY encourge it. After meeting several friends on here that have helped in my process, I realize it really is important to have such a support system on anything that you are trying to strive for.
Struggling with weight.....check it out.
I will keep you posted on the 100 miles in November.

Online vision boards
So I am very excited to find a website on here that helps you make an online vision board. I have been thinking about doing this for a while, but seemed to keep pushing it back as I "didnt have the time".....WELL NO MORE! I sat down today and put up my inspirational photos, power words, and everything that I want in life to come true. What an amazing thing to look at on a daily basis to make sure you see what you want, think about it, and can make it happen. I also just started a daily journal to where I will write about what I feel and do each day. Very excited. I am doing the paper copy right now, as I dont always carry my computer with me when I am watching other kids.
Whether you want to become the person you have always dreamt about being......if you want to start from scratch and get out of your rutt, or if you are completely fet up with your life and dont know where to turn, I SUGGEST BOTH THE VISION BOARD AND THE JOURNAL.
When I went to church last week, we talked about 5 things that you should do on a daily basis..I was so moved by this that I got a marker out and wrote these 5 things on the mirror for me to look at every morning and try to do better at. Here are the 5 things that might help you get on track.....
1. LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE
2. BE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN BE IN WHATEVER YOU DO
3. EMBRACE CHANGE
4. BE GRATEFUL
5. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES, DONT DWELL ON THEM, AND MOVE FORWARD.
Hope this helps someone out there that might be struggling. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
Love you all as we are ALL A PERFECT EXPRESSION OF GOD!

Water weight
So I am obsessed with weighing myself (both good and bad). I can jump on that scale 3-4 times a day, just to see how much my body can change throughout the day, throughout the week, throughout the month. This week has been a change of around 9 pounds just from my fluctuations. I have noticed that if I drink, then my body holds more water and I gain for the next couple of days.
All of this scale checking is driving me crazy though. So next month, I am going to take the entire month off (until the last day) from weighing in. Those positive thoughts are coming back to me, invisioning who I want to be as the person I am, is going to happen. You can be anyone you want to be as long as you work at it, see yourself doing it, and start everyday with the thought.......TODAY IS GOING TO BE A NEW DAY. TODAY I AM GOING TO ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING I WANT. I WILL NOT GET TODAY BACK SO I AM GOING TO BE AS HAPPY AS I CAN, PLAY AS MUCH AS I CAN WITH MY DAUGHTER, BE THE BEST WIFE, MOM, AND FRIEND I CAN BE. TODAY IS PERFECT AND THEREFORE I AM PERFECT!

JUICE FEAST!
I am VERY excited to start this up again. I did a juice feast for 21 days before I got pregnant and lost a lot of weight with it AND kept it off. I decided to do this again to help spark some more weight loss into my life. After hitting a month plateau, I really wanted to continue on my journey, but knew I had to make some changes for me in order for it to work. I decided to do my juice feast with an acception to raw salads if I felt the erge to "eat" something. So far......5 pounds in 2 days.
I LOVE MY NEW JUICER. Its amazing. Im needing to up my calories a little more though with the juicing so I will try that today to make sure I am getting in all my nutritional needs and not starving my body. So far so good!

MT PRINCETON........check
Well I accomplished my first 14er and it was HARD. We did Mt Princeton in the Collegiate Peaks and it was beautiful, but not a very fun hike. Almost the entire hike consisted of boulders. Im not talking about these boulders that are firmly stuck in the ground and easy to walk on. I am talking about small pebbles....huge lose rocks and magnificant boulders. It was crazy. Once we were on the top, we noticed a huge storm coming so we started down, and go rained on.......rain + loose boulders = no bueno! IT WAS SUPER SCARY! I made it up in 4 hours and my husband did it in 2 hrs 45 minutes. Very hard but rewarding. Our next one is setup for next month. Cant wait. If you have not tried it I would highly recommend making the trip over to Buena Vista to check out the mountain!

HIKING MY 1ST 14er!
WOW! Cant believe the day is almost here to hike my first 14er! Couldnt be anymore excited and nervous all at the same time. It will be such a great experience for me and I cant wait to test my body. My knees have been starting to grind the past couple weeks, so that is my only hesitation, but having good faith and invisioning me at the top is what I need to focus on. THIS CAN HAPPEN AND WILL!
So we are leaving tomorrow to the Collegiate Peaks to hang out, set up camp, and get well rested for our hike on Saturday EARLY morning (like 5:30). The inlaws are in town to watch the little one so it will just be us two trying to do this together. I am charging my IPOD as we speak. I didnt think my pandora would work all the way up, nor would I have any battery left, so we will see how the playlists work out for the hike!
I will keep you posted on my journey and hopefully report something back on my birthday when we pull up in the driveway.........
love you all!
